My Christmas Wishlist at The Editeur

Hi everyone! Firstly, let me just start off by apologising for my lack of posts this past week! I was taken out by the flu earlier last week and the rest of the days have just seemed to run away with me! (Slap on the wrist for being a bad blogger, I know!) However, I have got a new post to share with you all!

This week's wish list has been posted as part of my guest blogging feature for The Editeur, where I have chosen lots of the designer amazing-ness they have and put together a very wishful Christmas list! Honestly, it was so tricky to limit myself to a few things! If money was no object hey!

Music Mixbag: Sunday Playlist

When I first started this blog I used to do quite a few posts on what was on my playlist, who I couldn't stop listening to or who I was loving discovering. I haven't done a post that's entirely music orientated in ages and as big old eclectic music fan, I've decided to get it back up and running again as more of a regular feature! So today I'm kicking it back off with a selection of my latest favourite tracks for a chilled Sunday Playlist!

Of Monsters and Men // Dirty Paws
I love this song. It's got such a cute charm to it and follows on from 'Little Talks' brilliantly.

Two Door Cinema Club // Sun

A happy chappy second single from their latest album Beacon. I always love a bit of TDCC.

Alt-J // Matilda
It took me a little while to come round to Alt-J. But I absolutely love this song, such a distinctive voice and I feel instantly chilled after listening to it.

Ed Sheeran // Give Me Love: Live Room Acoustic
Although its hard to select one, I think this is possibly my favourite song on Ed's album +. So glad it's been released as the final song!

Alex Care // Damn Your Eyes
I LOVE Alex Care's voice, especially on this brilliant cover of Etta James' Damn Your Eyes. I wish it was longer than 2 and half minutes!

Gabrielle Aplin // Ghosts
My favourite song from the amazing Gabrielle who sings the lovely cover of 'Power of Love' for this year's Xmas John Lewis advert. I first started my music posts on this blog with her song 'Home', so it only felt right to include this song in this post!

The XX // Angels
I know this isn't a new song but I just still can't stop listening to it! I don't think I'll ever get bored of hearing it!

Pinback // Penelope
An oldie, but a goodie. This song first came out in 2001. So when I was age 10/11 and completely unaware indie style music ever existed! Quite a melancholic song I know, but I still love listening to it!

Enjoy. Hope you all have a lovely relaxing day :)

Next SS'13 Press Preview Day

I hope you all like looking at fashion-y photos! I got really carried away when I recently attended the press preview day for the Next SS'13 collection in London and therefore this post is a big old photo diary sharing some of the snaps I took on the day! I'm so happy I've finally got this post up to share with you all the lovely things headed to Next next summer, as it took me a while to go through them! (Teaches me for being far too snap happy for my own good!)

So yes, the preview day took place in the basement of One Marylebone which was a really great location as the lovely people of Next turned it into a perfect summer retreat! There were gorgeous flowers scattered everyone with projected water ripples over the walls and a very happy looking Buddha placed towards the back! It really was a stark change from the windy weather outside. We were also treated to some yummy sushi and freshly made rum cocktails which really helped get into the summer vibe!

Below are my photos of the Homewear collection for summer next year! I absolutely adore browsing and buying lots of nick-nacks for the various bedrooms I've had in the past and with a re-dec of my room on the horizon, I definitely picked out a few things I would love! It also got me thinking about what I would love to have in my dream house when I move out such as the big vintage wall clock and shabby chic drawers.
HOMEWEAR -THE TRENDS- Good Life // Blossom & Bloom // Boat House Salvage // San Diego & Elegant Twist.

The next photos are all of the Womenswear collection set to be filling the Next stores come Spring next year. As you can see plenty of fluorescent brights and feminine pastels will be carried through from this summer with lots of beautiful laser cut and lacey dresses teamed with tailored blazers for work wear and evening. In terms of patterns, florals and tie-dye features were very present, with splashes of metallic, sequins, subtle studs and textured details to compliment them. In particular from the accessories, I was loving all the shopper bags and wedges with quite a few pairs of flatform sandals also on display and the retro inspired sunglasses!

WOMENSWEAR - THE TRENDS- Micro Optics // Zen // Greenhouse & Liquid Metal

Me & the budda!

Overall I had a fab day per-oozing through all the collections, big thank you to Next for inviting me!

What do you all think of next years collection? Are there any items in particular your desperate to have?

The Power of Love

Happy Saturday everyone! My outfit post today is featuring the Herringbone Mango blazer I have been a bit obsessed with lately! It's part of the Kate Moss for Mango A/W 12 collection and I bought it not too long ago with some left over birthday vouchers! I was pretty chuffed I managed to only spend £39.99 on it and in my mind you really can't argue with those prices, so it was added to my wardrobe a.s.a.p! It's pretty warm and cosy due to it's over sized masculine styling so it has been keeping me toasty now the weather has taken a turn for the colder!

The jeans I'm wearing are from the Premium Denim range at Oasis. They've got a leather-look coating to give the appearance of leather without actually being leather themselves! I was a bit wary to try them at first as I'm not too much of a fan of squeezing myself into tight, uncomfortable little numbers but I can honestly say they are soooo comfy as they fit and have the feel of jeggings! Perfect! I also wore it with my classic black Topshop bag which I think I have had for about 6-7 years now! It's treated me so well despite the fact I always lose stuff in it as it's deceptively 'Mary Poppins' style in it's largeness! The little friendship bracelets are from Republic for only £4 each. They're so cute and pick-me-up I just had to have them!

Herringbone Short Coat: Mango £39.99 // Premium Coated Jean in Black: Oasis £45 // Boots: Miss Selfridge £N/A // Miso Spiked & Love Bracelet: Republic £4.00 each // Bag: Topshop £N/A

Hope you all have a lovely weekend whatever you get up to! I'm finally seeing the latest James Bond film this weekend so hopefully it will live up to all the good reviews I've heard about it!

PS. On a very separate note, have you all seen the new John Lewis Christmas advert? SO CUTE. It definitely rivals last years as possibly the most tear jerking ad, (yes I do find loved up snowmen moving) and if your a regular reader you will know I have a massive music crush on Gabrielle Aplin who is doing an amazinggg cover of Power of Love as the soundtrack for it! Check it out!
